Too many women die, or still suffer through breast cancer.

Ladies, get your girls checked regularly. If you don’t have insurance, there are many local organizations, hospitals and radiology facilities that offer free or very low cost mammograms.

And, men can get this nasty disease too.

I had a free one done at Florida Hospital (now, AdventHealth) in Altamonte Springs in 2011, and other free ones done via other various charities. I did this right up until I obtained health insurance through Obamacare in 2016. Ive been lucky enough to keep getting low cost insurance since.

I’m so glad I’ve kept it, because my most recent mammogram found anomalies in my left breast. Most likely they are calcifications, but it could turn out otherwise. I’m having that breast biopsied on Halloween.

Always check your county health departments. They often have the contact info for free mammograms, if they don’t screen for free, themselves.

Sometimes the free screenings are just during October. You still have time. Arm yourself with information.
