I’m afraid of what extremists will do AFTER January 20th

This is sad.

The horrific rioting that occurred at the US Capitol on January 6th was only the beginning.

Investigators believe many of these individuals had military training. I have to agree. That’s a scary scenario.
That sign is more than letters on a board or paper. It’s also a sign of their delusion and ignorance.
These people were disgusted by the mostly peaceful demonstrations of Black Lives Matter and the less violent protests that happened in Portland this Summer. Hypocrites.
And, there is this idiot demonstrating his audacity and stupidity. I heard his name but refuse to print it here. I’m glad he was tracked down and arrested.

Just because there are 300 cases opened on these insurrectionists does not mean the rest of the trump worshippers will be deterred. In fact, most of them probably see their actions as a success. They probably feel empowered and, they will rear their ugly heads again-painted with fake patriotism and red, white and blue colors.

They are delusional and ignorant.

They are living poster children for the need to support strong, effective public education and mental health care.

They may be ignorant but, they are not completely stupid; they know that they are being watched. They are aware that security around Washington DC will be at its highest on January 20th. That day may, in fact, be only marked by the (thankfully) swearing-in of a new President and Vice President.

What worries me is what could and, probably will, happen after the metal fences come down and the troops leave. What nut jobs will linger or move in with murderous intentions?

  1. I know exactly what you mean, things are completely out of control and don’t seem to be getting any better. All we can do is hope that cooler heads prevail and those who are up to no-good get caught before they can do any serious harm and/or damage.

    1. Exactly. We are living in scary times. My best friend and I saw this coming in 2016 when that orange scumbag got installed. I really do believe the cure is going to be within the realms of education and mental health awareness.

      1. I don’t understand why anyone would pledge their undying allegiance to any politician, no matter who it is. We need to be smarter that how they believe us to be because otherwise we will never succeed.

      2. Thank you. I lost my cat in December and two weeks later I discovered I needed to purge someone from my heart. Please stop by. Thanks for the compliments on my writing. I’m trying to steer my career in that direction.

  2. I’m so very sorry for the loss of your cat, I know how difficult and heartbreaking that is. Personally I have lost a few and my previous employer was a pet crematorium so I witnessed/endured much heartbreak unfortunately.

I’m glad to hear that you were able to rid yourself of a person who didn’t deserve to be in your life. I know it’s not easy but it’s definitely necessary for your mental well-being. You deserve better than that.

    1. Thank you. He was the last person I thought I couldn’t trust. It doesn’t matter how educated some people are. Just cause they have Ph.D, Ed.D, D.O.,M.D. or M.A. after their names, they can still be idiots about relationships or potential relationships. And, I miss my cat daily. I’m still working in a blog about grieving. It’s kind of a diary. Sometimes I’m still too exhausted to work on it.

      1. You’re absolutely right, some people are liars and unfaithful no matter who they are or no matter what they claim to stand for. I, unfortunately, just went through something similar last year.

Keep at it and don’t give up until you’re able to express your grief properly and honor their memory.

      2. Thank you. I keep adding bits to the blog. With my relationship issue, I don’t think it was an honesty thing so much as it was an insecurity issue on both of our parts.
