Whaaaaa! I broke my favorite mug. I have glue to fix it…now if I can feel not exhausted for ten minutes. Got this mug with the employee discount around Halloween one year when I worked at the Barnes & Noble in Altamonte Springs. I worked in the….you guessed it, cafe —WHICH IS NOT A BLOODY STARBUCKS.

Main entrance to the huge three-story independent bookseller on West Burnside in Portland. This is one of the largest independent bookstores in the world. It’s where I worked my last job in Portland , before moving back to Florida (Geeze, I musta been nuts). I worked in the, now defunct, Anne Hughes Coffee Room, where I got to make Courtney Love’s tall decaf mocha. Yeah she was the beyotch you’d expect her to be.

Coffee, in my kitchen. Once my nectar of the gods is done brewing, I pour that beautiful deep dark amber-brown liquid into a thermos to keep it hot and not let it burn, cause burnt coffee is disgusting blasphemy.

My Batdorf & Bronson mug I got for free from the roaster for emailing a question about their Dancing Goats blend, which is excellent, btw.). B &B is based in Tacoma, Washington, but they have regional roasting facilities. There’s one in Atlanta, and I thought I’d heard tell of one opening in Orlando. Yes, Dancing Goats contains some Indonesians. That was my question, “Does Dancing Goats have Indonesian beans, cause I think I taste Sumatran? “Why, yes it does.” I also got a free half pound of Dancing Goats.
For grocery store coffee, Eight O’clock is pretty good.
Another of my fave mugs. The Devil’s Music. This one is also packed away and ready to roll. This is a mug I bought with my employee discount at Coffee People on NW 23rd and Hoyt. Bought it in the mid-nineties. Yeah, I know how to make things last.

    1. She’s probably not really as unpredictable as she tries to portray. She’s actually from Portland (born in CA—I think). I worked with two people who went to HS with her. They both said she really wasn’t a nice person then. Her mom was a psychiatrist (I think). Her boy toy was nice, and I think a little embarrassed that she was such a sullen bitch.
