Our democracy is in peril. I do not trust half of the US voters, or half of its population.

I’m very scared.

donald trump (yes, call it immature, but I can’t capitalize his horrible name because he doesn’t deserve even that respect) poses a global danger. Yes, it goes beyond the borders of the United States. He gives extreme right wing, conspiracy-loving, ignorant, angry people the courage to express their undeserved anger and hatred. He encourages the racist, sexist, stupid, paranoid science deniers to lie, and fake their preferred beliefs to the forefront of societies around the world.

They will do this at any cost, even using violence. We need look no further than remembering their actions at the US Capitol building on January 6th, 2021.

I will never forget watching it happen in real time on our national television stations. It was all the more horrific knowing that the perpetrators were not foreigners acting out against our country, but were my fellow Americans acting out at the whim of a lame duck occupant of the White House. I never refer to him as, “President.” He was never presidential; he only gained his position via the antiquated entity called the Electoral College. It exists partly because our founding fathers did not completely trust American citizens to elect a suitable candidate. So, it’s very sadly ironic that this body of electors did not do their jobs and not throw their votes to the very suitable candidate who carried the popular vote. Hilary Clinton and the American people got royally screwed.

I just peeked at where we stand with the election so far.

I didn’t like what I saw. Florida embarrassed us again by going trump. I hate my state.

It takes 270 electoral votes to win the presidency. At this point Harris has 31, and as ridiculous as it it, trump has 101, or 107. Either number is way more than he fucking deserves.

I got called into work two hours early tomorrow morning. I’m too damn worried about this political contest to finish this post the way I wanted to.

I’m going to take a Xanax, eat something, take a shower and go to bed.

In the meantime, I’m watching the X-Files instead of the news.

I hope I won’t wake up in 2016 again. I literally HATE that orange piece of shit and I don’t respect his supporters,
