Thank you for the nice cushion

I want to give the folks who have helped me financially over the last few days.

The folks out there who sent me money know who they are and I am so relieved and thankful. Most of you I know in the 3-D world; some of you I know from Facebook.

I managed to get Progressive to move my pay day out to June 15th (but the email I got said 7/15. I need to check on that) I am not a fan of Progressive auto insurance, but the guy who helped me was amazing. He was extremely helpful. He said my insurance will still stay active. I need that because physical therapy after a joint replacement starts mere hours after the surgery. Yeah, it ain’t fun. With my left knee, all I wanted to do was hang over the Walker and drool on the floor, which is encouraged by all the pain meds that make you just want to crash and sleep, but no, a sadistic physical therapist says, “C’mon, we need you to take some steps down the hallway.” I think my first try on 12/30/2019 I managed about 15-16 (that’s round trip).

For now, I’m not on automatic payments, which raises my premium, but when I contact them to make that payment, I can return to automatic deductions and it will go down,

It’s a huge relief. So, now I will probably have money to pay the electric bill and the, now overdue water bill. But I hope my short term disability checks start arriving this week,

I couldn’t get ahold of Unum (the shitty HR company) and my online account with them is in limbo. I can’t find my password and when I tried to have them send me a code to change it, they sent the code to my email. The notification via email cuts off before it gets to the code, so that when I go to retrieve the code and return to the Unum log in. The text box to type in the code is gone and I’m back to logging in with my ID and password. It’s a ridiculous loop.

The email verification notices are stupid because Unum usually sends texts about other things. Whenever I receive verification codes via text, I don’t even have to leave the page. The code s right in the notification at the top of the screen. It’s stupid.

My roommate, Rose, said she’s had that happen to her with her personal online accounts. It’s frustrating.

When I called the company directly, the computer voice took me through four levels of options until I got, “You have called beyond our normal business hours. Please try back, blah, blah, blah…”

At least I have a bit of a breather. I am so grateful.

Knee surgery happens in two days.

It’s getting real. I washed the bed sheets I will need to put on the bed on 5/29, the night before the surgery. Everything has to be clean: bed clothes, jammies, towels. I have to take a total of three showers before surgery. The night before, the first shower is my usual shower with regular soap and shampoo ( washing my hair for sure cause won’t be able to for three days after surgery). Then I wash using an antimicrobial soap—whole body except face and privates. The third one is the morning of surgery and it’s just with the antimicrobial soap, which has to stay on for several minutes each time I shower with it.

And that’s not the end of the germ killing. I get rubbed down with more creamy sanitizer at the hospital in the prep room.

Yeah, and there’s a video I have to watch, or I can go to the 10:00’am class. I might do that. So, I better get to bed.

My right leg. I’ll be saying goodbye to this brace on 5/30th.
