Financial issues. Health issues. Roommate with health issues. Unhappy job schedule. Crappy apartment. Crappy neighborhood. Feeling stuck in life. Feeling stuck in Orlando….. the list goes on.
But, I have to reflect on things I am grateful for.
I am grateful for anything in my life that makes it suck less, or gives me, at least a little, joy.
I am lucky and extremely grateful for the great people in my life, especially these people: Pat, Chelle, Connie, Rose, Brian. Each of these beautiful souls has helped me when I needed help the most with money, psychological and spiritual support, shelter, and rides, when I lacked a car. I’ve shared humor and pain with them. I love them and am very thankful to have them in my life.
As much as I hate my domestic situation, I am grateful my home is better than a cardboard box. I’m grateful to have a safe place to sleep, watch TV, eat—store, and prepare food. I’m grateful to have a place to keep my belongings. I’m grateful to have belongings. I’m thankful to have electricity and hot and cold running water. I’m glad I have money to pay for these things. I’m grateful for the little money I do have and I’m grateful to be lucky.
I am thankful to be employed even though I loathe my up and down shifts. I am thankful for my co-workers who are all good people. I’m thankful for the 15% discount on food, health and body care supplies, and more at my job.
I’m grateful for health and auto insurance. I am grateful for having some great doctors. I am grateful to have a great vehicle that replaced my Pontiac that was totaled in a four car wreck two years ago. I am grateful no one died and I am thankful that my shoulder bone is healed and that my rotator cuff isn’t more messed up. I’m grateful that the four (out of five) things I was being treated for when the wreck happened turned out to be not be full blown scary cancer.
I am grateful to be intelligent and creative. I am thankful for my college education and my degree (and almost degree). I’m happy to have a healthy sick sense of humor. I am grateful to have marketable skills and talents: writing, photography, people skills, coffee business experience, intuition, and the knowledge I gained in school, and in life.
I am happy I spent time being married to Brian, and I’m grateful we got to experience life in Oregon, and thousands of miles of traveling together. I am happy he loved my cats and was a great cat dad.
I am grateful for the ability and opportunity to keep learning throughout life. And, forgive my taking political sides, but I am truly grateful to be liberal. It’s simply obvious that the base of conservatives have nothing but disdain for any mindset that goes against their limited ideas based on opinion and nothing scientific, or factual. I am grateful for being broad minded and excepting of differences (unless those differences come from a bad place). In short, I am grateful to have critical thinking skills, and morals.
I am grateful donald j. trump got indicted- multiple times. It gives me hope about being an American.
Oh, there are so many more things, people and places I am happy to have had in my life.
